At SMS Custom rods we want you to be completely satisfied with all aspects of your custom rod.  We understand that you are making a considerable investment and expect exactly the rod you want.  With that in mind we are offering a Demo/Loaner rod program.  Call it  "try it before you buy it".  Demo rods feature all aspects of custom rods that you may not be able to find elsewhere.  These rods offer you the opportunity to fish with spiral wrapped guides, split reelseats and grips, micro guides, flocked handles, and many other of our custom options.  Our hope is that you will be able to decide what features work for you before we design your personalized custom rod.  These rods can be picked up at our location in Joliet IL.  If you are in the Chicagoland area we can make arrangements to meet for you to try a rod. 

Guidelines:

• No deposit required.  The customer must sign a form detailing the rod and it's current condition.  If the rod is broken by the customer and not deemed to be a warranty replacement by the manufacturer the customer will be responsible for the cost of non-covered components.
• Timeframe for use.  SMS Custom Rods request's that the rod be returned to us in a timely manner.  We understand that not everyone can fish everyday, but expect rods to be returned within 2 weeks, if you have not been able to evaluate the rod just call us to discuss how long you will need it.
• Loaner Rods: If your SMS Custom Rod is broken and is undergoing warranty repair we will make every effort to supply you with a similar rod for your use during this time period.  It is our goal to keep you on the water.
• Availability:  We have rods that cover almost all Bass techniques available.  If there is a style or technique you are interested in please call to schedule your demo.  If that rod is not available you will be put on a waiting list until that rod becomes available.
